The Get Published! project is an initiative created by Oxford Brookes University to help students to publish their research to a wide audience.
The project runs competitions that students studying on an Oxford Brookes programme can enter into to help them to build up their skills and prepare them for the work place through real experiences.
Avian Evans-White, who has just completed studying a BA (Hons) Furniture: Design and Make at Rycotewood Furniture Centre at City of Oxford College, created a poster which outlined his final year project to a panel of judges. Avian’s project was focussed on exploring waste within the furniture industry and won the category of the best undergraduate poster.
Joseph Bray, Programme Leader BA(Hons) and FdA Furniture: Design and Make at Rycotewood Furniture Centre, said: “Avian really impressed the judges with his poster and presentation of his research. His work really stands out and his commitment to exploring ways to reduce waste and promote sustainability in the furniture industry is extremely commendable and inspiring. Avian clearly has a bright future in the industry ahead of him and we are very proud of his achievements”
Avian’s work was exhibited alongside over 50 exhibitors’ posters as a part of this project.
