Student life

From a vibrant Students' Union to modern learning environments - come and experience what being part of Activate Learning is like.

Student experience

Welcome to Activate Learning – where you will get access to everything you need to succeed, while creating lifelong memories.

We believe in developing the ‘whole person', through education and fun. During your time with us, you will get the opportunity to join clubs and societies, and attend events including freshers’ fairs and end of year parties.

Learn - You will learn in modern, well-equipped buildings and practise skills in industry-standard kitchens, motor vehicle workshops, and hair and beauty salons. Learning continues outside the classroom, with Apple TVs, PCs, iPads and laptops provided in our learning zones, and free wi-fi access across our sites.

Make new friends - You will get the chance to meet friends for life via our packed social and leisure programmes. Our vibrant and dynamic Students' Union runs clubs, societies, sporting events and celebrations. We also run special events throughout the academic year, including religious festivals, charity fundraisers and awareness days.

Get involved – We will listen to you and put your views at the heart of everything we do. In our Learner Voice programme, teams of student ambassadors and reps collect your feedback, and share it with college managers and directors, via the Students’ Union. This helps to ensure our services meet your needs. We also run student surveys, and the My Views programme, which enables you to share feedback about your course throughout the year.

Celebrate who you are - Whatever your age, background, faith or sexuality, Activate Learning will make you feel welcome. We pride ourselves on, and celebrate, diversity, with multi-faith facilities and gender-neutral toilets on offer for LGBTQ+ students who require this provision.

Learning, making new friends, relaxing, expanding your horizons, getting involved and being accepted for who you are – that’s the student experience at Activate Learning.
